About Monty
Monty brings over 33 years of experience in the country club and hospitality industry. Monty is a 1987 graduate of Texas Tech University and has a degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management. He is a Member of the Club Managers Association of America, served on the Board of the Texas Alliance of Recreational Organizations (TARO), and chaired the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Human Science at Texas Tech University. After managing a member-owned country club in West Texas, Monty joined ClubCorp in 1989. During his 18-year career with ClubCorp, he managed several premier Texas properties including Kingwood Country Club in Houston, Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, and Stonebriar Country Club in North Dallas. In 2000, Monty was promoted to Vice President where he led a team of ten regional support staff responsible for 25 country clubs. The clubs were located across the country from McAllen Texas to Boston, Massachusetts, and represented more than $118 million in annual revenues. Monty’s team led the organization in membership growth while also significantly improving employee satisfaction. He oversaw the successful development of new properties like the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lions Gate in Overland Park, Kansas, which included a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and the addition of an 18-hole Fazio Resort Course at Stonebriar Country Club.
